The N2N journey into technology and product and process development started more than 20 years ago through the formation of a strategic partnership between Mr. O’Kane (originally from New Zealand), and Mr. Merchant, (from the USA), when a joint venture agreement was negotiated to develop water and sewer pipeline coating systems for the Pacific markets. Based on Mr. Merchant’s unique ceramic coatings which far and away outperformed alternatives on the market, a new coatings solution was developed.

Given the technology contained within these products that were developed as a result of this partnership, a strong bond was formed between Merchant and O’Kane and a solid long term business partnership was formed. Given the base technology that the partnership now had, research was undertaken to see what other markets could benefit from its use. After considerable research, the antimicrobial market sector was selected, and an existing antimicrobial manufacturing company was purchased and the process of adapting this new technology to existing products was started.

This process consumed significant amounts of both capital and time, with the result being the significant cachet of intellectual property, (IP), exclusive technologies, products and processes that N2N has today. This process has also involved an extensive amount of testing, (including independent Universities and other qualified parties along with years of in-house commercial scale testing), while also obtaining an array of international registrations and certifications.

During this process, an inquiry was made of us, (via one of the European universities we were engaged with) regarding our IP’s ability to combat certain issues that were affecting both agricultural and horticultural markets. This started a long association with select agricultural universities for the development of the unique N2N products and processes with the agricultural / horticultural sectors that we now have.

As the development of any IP is a costly and draw-out process, N2N have always looked to maximize the potential of what it had that no other competitor had, (or has close to what we have) and utilized both the time and capital available to the best use possible. This has resulted in N2N now owning technology, products and processes that are both cutting edge and at the forefront of the select and defined markets within which we operate.

The overarching categories for all N2N business operations can be divided into three defined areas, (A) products developed and manufactured for use in surface-specific (human skin, animal skin and inanimate surface) antimicrobial products, (B) products and systems manufactured and developed for use in agricultural industries, (predominantly concentrated within the growing, storage and production of exceptionally pure, “100% toxin-free” products) and (C) products and systems that aid and enhance the capture, removal and storage of carbon within N2N products, (including the establishment of carbon credits), while producing high quality organic fertilizers / grow mediums.
